Tea has become a way of life and ingrained itself in many of the worlds cultures. Then again, tea is nearly 5000 years old and was discovered, as legend has it, in 2737 b.c. by a Chinese emperor when some tea leaves accidentally blew into a pot of boiling water.

In the 1600s tea became popular throughout Europe and the American colonies. The Japanese have devoted a beautiful ceremony to it and the Boston Tea Party protesting the British tax on tea - was one of the acts leading to the Revolutionary War.

Tea itself falls into 3 basic types, Black, Green and Chinese or Oolong tea. At Pomeroys we have searched the world for the finest of all these teas and carry them along with our special blends: and though not a tea in the traditional sense we have fruit and herbal teas available. Also growing in popularity is our range of Organic teas.
